Transportation to your Hotel, Villa or Location (what you need to know).

1.- Q:

How many transportation options are there in getting me to my Hotel in Los Cabos

?

A: You have 4 different options to choose from for getting to your location; a shuttle ride, a private ride, take a taxi or get a limousine. The only option we dont recommend here is taking a taxi, it's definitely going to be the most expensive from those options and definitely not the nicest ride if you compare it to a private ride from the many transportation companies in town, specially if you get a taxi from the airport, that will definitely be the most expensive compared to a private transportation. The shuttle is going to be the cheapest ride except if you ride with more than 4 people because with that many people you can get a private ride from any company to get you to your desired location.

2.- Q:

What is a shuttle transfer, what can I expect from it

?

A: Usually lost of other clients getting in the same vehicle, if your lucky it will only make 1 or 2 stops before getting to your hotel or location where you are stying at. Shuttles are really meant for hotels more than anything else or on the route of where other hotels are, they do not go to far out locations, for that you need to book a private transfer. to see the transportation options.

3.- Q:

What is a private transfer, what can I expect from it

?

A: You will most likely get the best service with this option, usually you will get the best vehicles with the best drivers (english speaking, most knowledgeable and professional) this is not always the case but in most cases this is how it goes. You will most likely be treated like a king. are your options for this service.

Check our information regarding your Airport Arrival. It's important for you to know that Los Cabos International Airport has different terminal buildings depending on the different airlines.

?

A: A valid passport, resort attire (some restaurants prohibit shorts and sandals), swimwear, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, camera and a valid driver's license (if you want to rent a vehicle). What items should you recommend me to purchase? Hand-blown glass, ceramics, Mexican artwork, Mexican fire opals, Talavera pottery, silver jewelry, cigars and tequila.

A: Los Cabos area is relatively small town but you will not have any problem finding an airline to get here, you can also arrive by car and by boat/yacht depending on your preference. The local people are very hospitable, you usually feel very welcomed and safe. Los Cabos travelers should get organized with a Tour or a Destination Management Company to show them around and the main attractions in the area. However, those who choose to rent a car and visit on their own, always can look and find a helpful person to guide them around.

4.- Q:

What about the beaches in the area

?

A: It's geography is unique and wherever you turn you see the ocean. The beaches are long and sandy with dunes or rugged with spectacular rock formations. There are surfing beaches with great waves and for snorkeling. Los Cabos beaches offers variety and less people-traffic. What about the preservation of the Turtle species in Cabo.

Cabo is also turtle-friendly

Noted as one of Cabo's most environmentally friendly resorts, Casa del Mar Beach Golf & Spa Resort has the distinction of being a government-designated protected sea turtle hatching ground. Guests of the resort are treated to a rare and delightful spectacle each year as five types of turtles — loggerhead, black, leatherback, olive ridley and hawksbill — nest and hatch between the months of June and December. Casa del Mar offers special "Turtle Rates" to guests from August through December and offers an extraordinary opportunity for resort guests to observe these singular creatures in their natural habitat. Resort guests can watch adult turtles lay their eggs, observe the hatched turtles in their holding corral, and handle the baby turtles in a supervised setting. They can even personally release them from the resort's pristine beach into the sparkling Sea of Cortés. Casa del Mar released 1,188 live baby turtles from their hatching ground in 2006.

5.- Q:

Can you tell us something about the village of San Jose del Cabo

?

A: The town was founded in 1730 and today is still preserved a colonial small town. San Jose del Cabo started out as a small fishing village and now it has become into a live and colorful town with a calm atmosphere, filled with authentic Mexican traditions, art galleries, chic boutiques and the real Mexican charm. This town is more quite than Cabo San Lucas with it´s extraordinary nightlife and bustling marina.
I also understand that Los Cabos has been referred to for decades as the marlin fishing capital of the world.

6.- Q:

Could you tell us why and what can we expect

?

A: Los Cabos holds the largest amount of marlin caught no where else in the world. But we try to encourage fisherman to release the catch as much as possible for sport fishing and tournaments.

7.- Q:

What about the native food and wine of the area

?

A: Native foods are primarily from the ocean, including all kinds of fish and shellfish. However there is now a new and promoted growth in the area of organic foods which are highly-prized by our international and Mexican chefs. Obviously cactus products are widespread, as well as some special herbs and spices native to Baja. For instance, the Damiana herb is used to make a sweet liqueur or it can be dried to make a healing potion. In northern Baja, the vines planted decades ago have matured to produce award-winning Mexican wines and we offer them with our traditional Baja California cuisine.

8.- Q:

When is the best time to visit the Los Cabos and what activities can one experience

?

A: Fishing, golfing, hiking, ATV's and Hummer tours, horseback riding in the desert are available all year-round. Since we only have an average of 5 rainy days a year, visitors are guaranteed sunshine. Preferences will often influence the time of year to go. For example, the winter months tend to be sunny and warm with cool nights. The summer months are warmer with balmy night's ideal for evening surfing. Los Cabos is considered a year round destination. The high season runs from October to April, so if you're on a budget it's best to travel between May and September and a little rain fall's during September and October. And the calving season from January to March where you may see gray whales spouts close to shore. For fishing many hotels and outfitters (such as SunRider Adventures or Josephine Charters) offer fishing packages yacht spend a day catching and releasing. And you can walk around in Los Cabos, and choose your own adventure trail.

9.- Q:

Is there anything else you wish to tell our readers about the area that we have not covered

?
